NCAWPA Youth Program
Welcome!
The NCAWPA Youth Dragon Boat program is a weekly paddling event for teens ages 12-18. Learn to paddle a dragon boat, meet new people, get a great workout, and have fun!
No Experience is required!
The 2010 youth membership fee is $50 but you can attend as many practices as you need to see if you like the sport and want to join the team. The fees go toward sustaining our non-profit organization, covering paddler insurance costs, and maintaining boating and boathouse equipment.
Practices
Our first water practice of the 2010 season will take place on June 6, and will continue Every Sunday from 9:30 - 11:00am. Practices will run once a week until it's too cold to paddle, at the Anacostia Community Boathouse.
Arrive by 9:45am to gather your gear and we'll be getting on the water by 10:00! Practices run approximately one hour long. For your first practice, it's best to show up at 9:30 am so we can teach you the basics beforehand.
Ready to attend one of our practices? Send an email to youth@ncawpa.org to RSVP your seat(s) and make sure you have this form signed by your parent before coming down: USDBF Club Waiver
Come Paddle with us in Philadelphia!
We plan to paddle in the Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival on October 2nd, 2010 (Saturday) but are also considering other races and events before then. Come join our team and race with us in 2010!
