How to Get to NCAWPA by car
From Virginia
Take I-395 North across the 14th Street bridge. Keep right on the bridge and continue on I-395, then keep left and stay on I-295. Exit at 6th Street SE/Navy Yard. At the bottom of the ramp, go through two lights. At the next light, make a RIGHT onto 8th Street SE. Proceed to M Street SE and take a left. Continue down M St. until you reach the boathouse, a large white building.
Alternate Route, in case of traffic: As you approach the 14th Street bridge, if there is a lot of traffic headed right toward I-295, exit left instead onto Highway 1 / 14th Street. Take the small ramp on the right just after leaving the bridge, toward Maine Ave SW. Lean toward the right, and this street will become M St. SW. Keep following M street until you've passed the Stadium and the Navy Yard, then continue on to the boathouse.
From Maryland, Howard Road Exit
Take I-295 South to Exit 3B for Howard Road. At the light make a left and go under I-295. At the next light make another left to take I-295 North and get into the right lane and stay there. Take the exit toward M Street by moving right one lane. Lean right until you reach M St. and turn right. Continue along M St., the Boathouse will be on your right.
From Maryland, Suitland Parkway Exit
Take I-295 South to Exit 3A, Suitland Parkway East. Stay in the ramp lane to continue under I-295 and get back on to I-295, this time going North. Stay in the right-most lane and take the first exit for the Washington Navy Yard & I-395. Stay in this lane until you are on the bridge. Then move right one lane to take the next exit, M Street. Lean right until you reach M St. and turn right. Continue along M St., the Boathouse will be on your right.
How to Get to NCAWPA by Metro
It is easiest to reach the boathouse by walking from the Navy Yard Metro station (Green Line), or Eastern Market (Blue Line). It should be a 15-20 minute walk. If you know in advance that you're coming to practice, though, you can almost always find a volunteer to give you a ride to the boathouse or back to the metro afterward.
From Eastern Market, walk down Pennsylvania Ave. and take the first right down 8th St. Continue down 8th to M St. - you will see the Navy Yard. Take a left on M St. and continue along M until you reach the boathouse.
The Navy Yard station is already on M street. Just head East along M until you reach the boathouse.
