DC Pergamental Indoor Paddling Regatta - Virtual Edition
Sunday, March 13, 2022

Event Overview
Welcome to the 4th annual DC Pergamental indoor paddling regatta, virtual edition! This event is hosted by the National Capital Area Women’s Paddling Association (NCAWPA) and the DC Dragons dragon boat team.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: March 11, 2022

Racers this year have a variety of sprint and distance races to choose from. Because the event is virtual, the entry fee is significantly reduced.

Events:
  • 200 meter - individual - Dragon boat / single sided
  • 500 meter - individual - Dragon boat / single-sided
  • 1000 meter - individual - Outrigger / double-sided
  • 5000 meter - individual - Outrigger / double-sided
  • 5000 meter  - Relay - Outrigger / double-sided

The format for the regatta this year is virtual, which means the following:
  • Complete races on machines wherever you have access to them: club-owned, personally-owned, or buddy-owned, doesn't matter. Allowable machines are the Concept2 with a PaddleSport Training Systems paddle adapter (generation 2) or a KayakPro dragon boat ergometer.
  • KayakPro machines must be calibrated to 75/75 (weight and drag factor). Concept2 machines can be calibrated to any drag factor.
  • All times will be submitted online via a submission form by end of day March 13. We'll send this form out to registered athletes closer to the submission deadline. You will need to include a picture of your screen.
  • What's a relay? Two individuals using the same machine to complete a race. Racers may switch off as much as they want, whenever they want. Please don't trip over anything.
  • Just so we're all on the same page, we're operating on the honor system here. This is all just for fun, folks. (With maybe some bragging rights thrown in)

Plus, there's raffle prizes! More racing = more entries to the raffle:

To make things more fun, we'll be raffling off goodies. Each race entry gets you one entry into the raffle, with a maximum of 4 raffle entries. For example, if I race the 1000m and 5000m individual races, I get 2 entries into the raffle. For each raffle entry to be eligible, you must register and submit a time for that race.
