Event Overview
Welcome to the 3nd annual DC Pergamental indoor paddling regatta! This event is hosted by the National Capital Area Women’s Paddling Association (NCAWPA) and the DC Dragons dragon boat team.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: March 7 --> Register here

Racers this year have a variety of sprint and distance races to choose from. For one flat entry fee of $30, racers may register for as many events as they would like. Organizers recommend no more than 3 events, but hey it's your body.

New this year: some events are single-sided (can't switch sides during the race) and some are double-sided (switch whenever you want during the race)
  • 200 meter - individual - best of 2 rounds - Single-sided
  • 500 meter - individual - single-sided
  • 500 meter - tandem pair - double-sided
  • 1000 meter - individual - double-sided
  • 5000 meter - individual - double-sided
We also have the following highlights from the rules and general logistics:
  • The 200 meter is a “best of two rounds” format — paddlers will race twice, and their best time will be counted towards rankings.
  • When racing as a pair, the speed of the “boat” is the average speed of the two paddlers. Thus, if one paddler has a 2:45 / 500m split time and the other has a 2:15 / 500m split time, then the “boat” will move at a 2:30 / 500m split.

Please see the race rules under "Event Documents" on this page

Paddlers in the youth division race for free! For everyone else, registration is a flat fee, regardless of how many races you enter.
